The coin marks the 500th anniversary of the first circumnavigation of the globe, completed by Spanish sailor Juan Sebastián Elcano. Its obverse depicts Elcano’s portrait over a globe, along with the years “1519–1522” and a Latin inscription highlighting this historic voyage.
